Shannon Lamoreux Personal Interview, Gov't and Economics Teacher at YVHS on MAy 8th, 2014.

Q1) What is your opinion on cloning?

"I think that for medical purposes, in order to grow an organ or something for surgey, it's good, but other than that I don't think its a good idea."

Q2) Do you think it would be beneficial or detrimental to society? and why?

"I think its detrimental because you're messing with the natural balance of life and upsetting the natural order of things."

Q3) Do you think it will be fully successful and accepted by society in the future? How far?

" I'd say yes, but not far for at least one-hundred years from now. If it becomes more common, it might be acceptable but right now, its not common."

Q4) How do you feel about it morally?

"I feel its wrong, morally because, as i said, it interrupts the balance of life and its just too weird to think about."

Q5) Do you beleive cloned people would have souls, or because their creation was unnatural, would they be more like robots with a human brain?

"I think they would have feelings and emotions because they have a brain, but they would not have a soul because God, himself, didn't create them. Humans aren't supposed to try to create life. "

Q6) Would you view them any differently, or have any prejudices againest them?

" I would feel bad for them, but i wouldn't have anger or spite for them, so no prejudices because its not their fault."

Q7) Politically and finanically, how do you believe they would affect society?

" They would probably just be treated like everyone else, with the same rights, unless maybe you could single them out."

Q8) What do you think Society's views would be on clones?

" If they could be singled out, then i do think there would be prejudices againest them because i don't think they could be considered normal people."

Q9) If someone wanted to clone you, how would you feel about it?

" I would say no, because there's only one of me and i don't want there to be another one. Not even to replace a missing or cutt off limb."

Q10) How do you think, assuming they have emotions, the clones would feel?

" I'm not sure, because i've never met one, but I think they would feel sad because they weren't made naturally, and that they were set apart from socitey."
