Theme Analysis
Through out "Brave New World", there were a couple different ideas of a theme but they all reflect one thing, that one thing being a process and the occuring drug, "Soma" that they are bound to face a few difficulties and changes. The important theme is that they do not want families so they try to clone the babies into the community, they want everyone together, not separate. They believe that the babies should grow up to dislike flowers and books. Why, so? Books make people smarter and if the babies grow up to read books, they'll be smarter and they do not want them to be smarter than they are, so that could be a possibility as to why they want them to absolutely hate reading books.
The word "Mother" in the story is such an obscene word because it is where most babies come from and they do not want them in families and going off into their own groups of life. They want equality among each other so they want everyone in one place, belonging together. Mothers can produce as many children as they possibly can, if it is a good idea and they are in the shape for it; however, these people; such as the director; are not evulating this idea, he's completely againest it. He does not want women to produce more children, he would rather clone the ones they already have.
